The musician has opted to donate the funds to the MVT, in recognition of the essential function local spots had in his initial steps.
"As an artist would not have achieved this success if it hadn't been for all the shows I performed around the area, and beyond, when I was starting out," stated Fender. "These locations are iconic, but they are facing challenges."
Beginning in 2023, more than 150 of these venues have permanently closed – about one-sixth of the whole industry in the UK.
In the last year, well-known musicians including Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all backed the trust in its efforts to keep the scene afloat, by including a modest fee to their ticket costs, which goes to help independent venues.

The money helped spaces that were confronting potential shutdown due to challenges caused by water damage, fires and bereavements, as well as regulatory hurdles, court cases and neighbor objections.
Some locations obtained financial assistance in improving facilities and sound and lighting systems that positively impacted artists and concertgoers.
"The idea that funds from concerts in large arenas backs the smaller venues, where it begins for artists like me, is just logical," Sam Fender has said.
The musician is not the first artist to give his honor winnings to worthy causes.

Also 1994 winners the group contributed their winnings to a MS organization after a acquaintance was diagnosed the condition.
"Receiving the award was sufficient," said singer the singer. "The cash was the extra but we could do without the extra, because we had the cake. So our success impacted somebody else's life."
Last week, the MVT announced it had protected several grassroots venues in south-east England, by placing them under public stewardship.
The Joiners in that area and the other in Bristol were bought under the community ownership initiative, which is funded by a national body and supporters who acquire "ownership units" in the properties.
